Spring at the Farm

The Bryon Herbert Reece Farm and Heritage Center will open for our third season on Thursday, April 3. We have reduced admission fees to $3 for everyone and admission on Thursdays is free. Use this opportunity to tour the exhibits, spend a few minutes by Wolf Creek, and enjoy our Gift Shop.

If you’re thinking of holding an event at the Farm, please inquire right away. The calendar is filling fast with weddings, family reunions and other events. You can email us at reecesociety@gmail.com or call 706-745-2034 or 706-379-5196.

We look forward to seeing you at the Farm!

My heart swells with pride the more I learn about Byron Herbert Reece. My grandfather was Ernest Lance. My mothers father. Proud of my heritage from the mountains as my Mom always was.

Thanks very much for the SPRING AT THE FARM post! It would be wonderful if I could conduct a reading from “Fiddler of the Mountains” in the afternoon on April 25. I now have a wonderful CD of my Uncle Johnny’s music recovered from the old records which were recorded in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s in Canton, Ohio. The restoration process was conducted by Johnny Carter at the National Recording Studio in Rome, GA. This music would probably be NEW to an audience of students. But that would be fantastic. And of course folks of any age would enjoy it! We hope to visit soon!

Kindest regards, Eva Nell Mull Wike, PhD Ph: (865) 482-2545
